Best Way for Three Friends to Play Each Other

I do not think there is a way to chat between players and spectators. So if the three of you want to talk, you should set up something external.

3 games. you play 2, but the other guys also play against each other.
other than that those are the best options and well explained.

edit: some people suggested triple simul (aka double round robin), you kept things more simple.
So here's what you do; two players play a normal game, but every, say, third move, the third player gets to make one move for one of the players, alternating between them, and the third player's goal is to force a draw.

sounds fun, you just need to add a scoreboard and p3 gets a win for a draw
