Suggestion: "Invite to a similar game" option

If my opponent resigns and immediately leaves the game, I sometimes would like to invite to a game that is totally similar to the one I just played (same time control, same type of chess). Could you make a button in the game that is called "Invite to a similar game" or something like that?

I think it's meant that a 'quick match' kind of button to create a seek with the exact same time/variant as the match you just finished (i.e. without having to go back through menus and verify the challenge controls, etc. ) would be a nice feature.

I would agree with that sentiment. This would be a great addition to lichess.

As for where the button would go, I assume it would go right above where the "analysis" button is currently located when a match ends.

Yes, I meant it like static_shadow explained it in #3. It would take one click in stead of maybe 5 or 6 to invite to a similar game.

(tisnjh: I did not mean to challenge a specific person, just an open challenge after a game has been finished).

I agree, it would be a nice feature, it could go between the rematch and analysis buttons and it would be very convenient for people who want to play the same time control.

I came to the forum to suggest exactly this feature if I couldn't find someone else suggesting it.

This button could show up (as lilkcough1 suggested) below the rematch button, or (if cluttering the UI is a concern) there could instead be a preference to either replace the "New Opponent" button or modify its behavior.

It would be nice too if this button shows up while a rematch is being sought. That way, we can attempt a rematch, and then just click this button when we don't want to wait any longer for the previous opponent to accept.

Also, I'm not sure why the "New Opponent" button takes you to the main page but doesn't auto-open the "Create a game" dialog. If it did, it would significantly reduce the need for this new button.

If you click on the "New Opponent" button now, you automatically invite to a game that is similar to the game you just played (similar time control, similar type of chess etc). It seems to have been implemented recently, and is exactly the type of button that I had in mind when I created this topic, so thanks!
