PETITION from CONCERNED USERS

Menu looks good to me. Easier to make the site and the app mesh well together, imho. *shrugs* H8rz gonna h8.
"Please add my name to this petition. Bring back the Play button!"
The design is pleasant to the eyes and i like the minimalist touch it gives(not that it was absent in the older interface), but for the sake of constructive criticism, it does make it awkward to surf the site, in the past i would click the bottoms out of sheer boredom.
without the menu its a giant step backwards. It perhaps make sense on a tiny smartphone, but not on the desktop.
_____ How is it that 3 exceptionally intelligent & well-intentioned people can so totally miss the point & corrupt the WONDERFUL
good they have done?? This is so sad! And -- I believe -- you are losing the respect of an intelligent group of people that believed the principles you profess...

____ I was alowing some time for:

A) Thibault to step in and save the world he has created
B) static_shadow or Cynosure to look at themselves in a mirror: & retract personal attacks when they have an informed, alternative perspective, and
C) to distill my thoughts and feelings to give you some mature/ "high road" feedback (It is only ? 8 hours ago that I saw Cynosure's gem -- I had other things to do)

_____ I will respond ... 2 days from now at the soonest.
Hopefully, my expression will not be censored... If so, it will eloquently prove the point I DO NOT want to make. The cat's out of the bag fellows -- the truth is there for anyone to see. There have been too many eyes on the multiple threads of people responding because they expect good from you...

A QUIP:____ I love the (vice) emperor's new clothes... Not to mention his manners... But how many canaries must die before he feels the cold wind of reality nibbling at his hiney??
For the record, I don't make personal attacks when I have an alternate perspective. I simply call a spade a spade. My only "personal attack" on you was to call this thread what is is: ridiculous - as are the majority of your forum posts in general.

Your occasional wit when you first began posting to the forums was humorous for awhile. But you crossed that line many times ages ago, you effectively single-handedly destroyed all the work I put into the Lichess Correspondence Chess Club team with your childish back-and-forth with rise_UIED, and now this thread has seriously been the last straw for me. You've fallen to the troll side, Isaiah.
Can we not start flame wars. I wish discourse was much more civil. Stop chasing after the old, many a times in history people try to go to some "golden age" time period in civilization, they try and try but they never get there-- the golden age was not as golden as they had perceived.

This is at the point of becoming a cult; new vs old.

I don't want to start a war:
To static, please leave aside personal events that happened with a user, if you wish to discuss it, please do it outside of public forums.

Its not anymore of the design and usability of the site anymore, people are bringing personal conflicts before any of the changes to the site happened.

To Isaiah, I have already discussed with you, so I leave it up to you to follow my advice or not.

Can we just forget & forgive and leave personal things aside and just discuss on improving the best site in the world! This is the thing that unites us all. User, dev, mod, we are all a piece to the full contributions.

Sorry, i might have overstepped my boundaries when I said. I feel I am on decent terms with both parties in conflict to give my word to both.

PS: I was graciously given a fool's mate so I could publish this post as soon as possible ;)
_____ Well that's an authortative and un-retortable response. I rest my case. God -- you are so easy. It's a shame you aren't 30% less genius and 200% more humble.

_____ Thank you for confirming my suspicions regarding the CCC team. I AM SORRY -- I thought the standard you set should have been met or improved upon....... Are you CIA too?
#68 was directed at static. As I just said in a private note to you, I would be glad to make an apology and take the high road. However, I will not be bullied. Nor do I intend to alow others to be muzzled.

____ This change is inevitable. My objection was to a "cavalier" attitude towards input from the community that Thibault has poured so much time and money into serving. If my ill-informed critics would check, my first reaction was thanks and praise...

___ But the spirit of that community is dampened by a "take it or leave it" attitude when so many are eager to contribute. An opportunity is being lost to make the new format a great synthesis of old and new.

What do you say to the others? Is this a lone sentiment? :
____________ "Thank you Isaiah for voicing everybody's concern." :)
And yet it goes on.....my words unoticed
